About our business

Big on know-how.
Easy to talk to.

An independent Ottawa automotive business built around technical competence, honest conversations and long-term customer relationships.

Who we are

A local shop with a specialist mindset.

We are known for European-vehicle expertise—and we are also a full-service repair facility for Asian and domestic vehicles.

We work on European, Asian and domestic vehicles, from everyday maintenance to difficult mechanical and electrical problems. The approach is the same regardless of what is on the lift: understand the concern, do the work properly and explain it clearly.

Our used-vehicle sales division is part of the same business, giving Ottawa drivers another way to work with Motor Medics.

A reputation earned over time

Built on the work,
not the hype.

The best introduction to our shop is what customers say after getting their vehicles back. It is about trust earned through real service—not slogans or manufacturer logos.

ESTABLISHED1979
Where it began

Years of experience. A story of our own.

Motor Medics has been part of Ottawa's automotive community since 1979. The business established its reputation servicing European automobiles, and its history spans an earlier shop on Bank Street near Alta Vista and today's location on Hunt Club Road.

European vehicles remain a specialty, and we're equally clear about the rest of our work: we maintain, diagnose and repair Asian and domestic cars, SUVs and trucks too.

From the archives

A remarkable piece
of our history.

One remarkable chapter in Motor Medics’ history involves former owner Joseph Beric and Pierre Elliott Trudeau’s 1959 Mercedes-Benz 300SL convertible. Beric was someone Trudeau trusted to service the car.

As Beric recalled to journalist Dave Brown, Trudeau liked to ask questions, learn about the mechanics and work alongside him at the Bank Street shop.

“He knew quite a bit about mechanics and wanted to know more. He understood motors and cars. He liked to help.”

Joseph Beric, as quoted by Dave Brown
